The Chief of staff of the Ethiopian Army, Seare Mekonnen, has been shot dead.
Mekonnen was murdered by his own protector in Addis Ababa, the capital of the East African country, BBC reports.
The Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed, while affirming the passing, stated: “Mekonnen and another officer kicked the bucket attempting to counteract an overthrow endeavor in Amhara area.
“The territorial legislative head of Amhara, Ambachew Mekonnen, and a guide was likewise murdered in a different assault.”
Ethiopia has seen ethnic challenges by natives in Amhara and different pieces of the nation in the previous couple of years.
